To be held at the UIC’s Center for Literacy on April 9th, the On the Road to Literacy Conference, sponsored by Literacy Volunteers of Illinois and UIC’s Center for Literacy, will bring together many students, teachers, tutors, and administrators from literacy programs across Chicago and Illinois to celebrate 25 years of tackling the roots of low literacy – and 30 years of funding for volunteer literacy programs through the Literacy Office in the Illinois State Library, established by Governor Jim Edgar when he was Secretary of State.

Anyone can register to attend, whether you are a tutor, a student, or simply interested in the critical work that we do and what else needs to be done. Advanced registration is $15 for students and $20 for tutors and staff. At the door registration is $17 for students and $22 for tutors and staff.
