WBDC Presents Program for Latina Entrepreneurs

The Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) will soon launch the second cohort of a six-month leadership and entrepreneurial comprehensive training program for Latina business owners called the Latina Entrepreneurial Accelerated Development (LEAD) Program. Delivered in English and focused on four key areas – leadership, mentoring, volunteerism and strategic business planning, LEAD will kick off on Wednesday, Oct. 26th, with a three-day intensive leadership training seminar at 2112, a creative industry incubator at 4245 N. Knox in Chicago, to build peer-to-peer connections and set the stage for the entire program. Participation is limited to 15 Latina business owners headquartered in Illinois who have at least two employees and have been in operation for two years or more. Cost for the entire program, including breakfast and lunch at the retreat, is $150 per person. Scholarships are available for those who qualify. Funding was provided by Discover Financial, NBC Universal and 2112.
