In honor of Latino Hispanic Heritage Month, the Circuit Court of Cook County will host two consecutive days of tours of the Richard J. Daley Center Courthouse on Tuesday, Sept. 26th and Wednesday, Sept. 27th. The tours are co-sponsored by the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois and the Puerto Rican Bar Association. “The Annual Latino Hispanic Heritage Month Courthouse Tours,” are part of the court’s year-round Community Heritage Month Courthouse Tour series, which coincide with observances that celebrate racial and ethnic diversity. The tours help the court to reach out to Cook County’s many diverse communities hoping to increase understanding of how the legal system works and to ensure that opportunity to view how court functions firsthand is available to everyone,” said Circuit Court of Cook County Chief Judge Timothy C. Evans. Tour participants will visit a courtroom to observe a civil trial in progress, attend an informal question and answer session with a judge and have the opportunity to meet with bar association representatives. Tour reservations are recommended. The Richard J. Daley Center is located at 50 West Washington Street.
