The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) announced that it has named ComEd Senior Vice President of Governmental & External Affairs Fidel Marquez to its board of directors. Marquez becomes one of the first two executives from corporations to be appointed to IHCC’s board in the organization’s history. “ComEd and IHCC share a commitment to developing and growing businesses in Illinois and investing in the workforce of tomorrow. We’re delighted that Fidel has been appointed to IHCC’s board,” said Anne Pramaggiore, president & CEO, ComEd. “Fidel’s proven leadership skills and deep roots in the Hispanic community will help IHCC deliver on its mission to empower local business owners and contribute to the financial strength of Illinois.”

Marquez has more than 30 years of experience in the energy business in Illinois. A licensed professional engineer, he received his master’s in business administration from Northwestern University and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. “We are pleased to welcome Fidel Marquez to the IHCC Board of Directors. Fidel and ComEd have been strong advocates of IHCC and small businesses in Illinois,” said Omar Duque, President and CEO of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. “Fidel’s leadership and vision will be an asset to our board as we continue working towards our mission of making the world a better place through entrepreneurship.”
