Grace Period registration and voting for the November 6th Gubernatorial Election begins this week, announced Cook County Clerk David Orr. Paper-based voter registration ended Tuesday, October 9th, but eligible voters who missed that deadline can still register through Election Day, online and during the Grace Period, Orr said. Eligible voters can register online until 11:59pm on Sunday, Oct. 21st and through Grace Period registration and voting, which runs through Monday, November 5 – the day before Election Day. Voters who choose to register in-person at an Early Voting site must provide two forms of identification (one which shows the voter’s current address) and vote in person at the time they register. Eligible voters can register at any one of the Clerk’s Early Voting sites. The Clerk’s 52 Early Voting sites are open October 22 through November 5. Until then, eligible voters can vote early only at the Cook County Clerk’s main office, 69 W. Washington, Chicago. Suburban Cook County residents can check their voter registration status, view a sample ballot, find their polling place and more through cookcountyclerk.com/VoterInfo. To register to vote online, go to cookcountyclerk.com/RTV.
