The YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago announced that it is opening bilingual in-person computer support labs at three of its city locations to provide free I.T. help and training for Chicago residents. As the pandemic persists, many residents in underserved communities continue to need access to affordable technology and computer support to learn about crucial resources such as registering for a COVID-19 vaccination, accessing stimulus check updates, applying for unemployment insurance, job hunting, or even shopping for groceries. The Y’s Community I.T. Support Labs will be offered at the Kelly Hall YMCA in Humboldt Park and the Rauner Family YMCA in Little Village with a third location opening at the South Side YMCA in Woodlawn on Thursday, November 11 (see below for opening hours). Chicago residents needing online support are advised to call the bilingual help desk number at 312-440-2416 to get assistance virtually or, if needed, to arrange an in-person meeting at one of the labs or alternative public location. The details for each center are:
