The Berwyn Police Department will conduct additional traffic enforcement from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027, to help reduce crashes and save lives. The effort is supported by a federal fiscal year 2027 Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program grant administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. “This grant helps us put additional officers on the road to address behaviors that lead to serious crashes,” said LT Chris Anisi. “We urge everyone to make safe choices behind the wheel. Our priority is getting everyone home safely.” During this enforcement period, Officers will focus on impaired driving, distracted driving, and seat belt violations. The enforcement effort will support “Click It or Ticket”. These high-visibility campaigns combine enforcement and public awareness to encourage safer driving. The FY27 STEP grant period runs from Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2027. Throughout the grant year, Berwyn Police Officers will conduct additional enforcement, including during periods with a higher risk of serious crashes.
